Spring Lamb Box

Saturday 07 June 2008

After quite a slow spring with nothing but rain, snow and wind, the grass is really growing and we are pleased to see that the lambs are doing well now.

So we are now offering the spring lamb box for sale again.Unfortunately the lamb is more expensive than last year, but at £60 it is still excellent value for money and offers a considerable saving. We hoped you all enjoyed the lamb boxes that youve had in the past and judging by the interest in the spring lamb at farmers markets we must be doing something right.

Food and Farming for REAL

Wednesday 04 July 2007

Hill farming communities play a vital role in many areas of our lives, literally providing access to everything from food to fresh air. The Food and Farming for REAL showcase aims to provide a practical demonstration of this. It is organised by farmers and small businesses and organisations involved in rural produce and pursuits. The showcase will be launched at the Kilnsey Show on 28th August and is seeking funding to be rolled out through a programme to visit schools and colleges as well as key rural shows.

The aim is to demonstrate all the positive contributions which hill farming communities make to modern life. It will cover everything from food stalls to cookery demonstrations, rural art and craft stands and a chance to meet the workers through a show of farm animals and activities.

We will be taking an active roll in the project and would welcome your views or be delighted to meet you on the day.

Rain, rain and more rain

Wednesday 04 July 2007

The winters can be harsh in the Yorkshire Dales, particularly on the higher ground where our upland sheep graze, but you do expect a bit of a break in the summer.
